Let me be the first to say that this is The Untitled Story of My Life.

Or Maybe:

The Heretofore Untitled Story of My Life

Or just:

This is the Untitled Story of My Life

Currently zero exact matches on Google for each.  Wouldn’t those make nice titles?  Reminder, this site is licensed under an Attribution Non-Commercial Share-Alike Creative Commons license.

I love this Magritte’s Pipe takeoff.

magritte_wiimote

But it misses the point a bit, The Treachery of Images, illustrates the point that the image of the pipe is only the representation of a pipe, not an actual pipe (Try to stuff it with Tobacco).  Though, if you think about it, the image above isn’t a racket (nor is it a wiimote, or a pipe).  It is simply an image.

The original work:

And while we are on the ant subject, I've really been into M.C. Escher recently.

What the idea is is, is that if heaven does exist, then it is a place of infinite sadness or all a big lie. Why is that? Well, because if we don't all make it to heaven then there is bound to be a lot of people expecting to see someone who didn't make it. I know it wouldn't be heaven to me if certain faces were missing. It would almost be Hell thinking of them wallowing in purgatory or suffering for eternity.

Thus the sadness.

So a calculating God would ensure that the images of those banished to Hell would be there, though that could only be a facsimile of a soul.

Thus the lie.

If the idea is that the universe is so vast that the probability of life on another planet is 100% and you could definitively prove that there is no life on a planet other than Earth then would that in effect prove the existence of God?  Of course if you discover that there is life then that doesn't disprove the existence of God. It would just mean the idea that (s)he created life solely on Earth is hogwash.
